Think College Accreditation Council Press Release Picked up by Multiple News Outlets

This April, the ICI’s Think College launched the Inclusive Higher Education Accreditation Council (IHEAC), a new accrediting agency for inclusive postsecondary programs for students with intellectual disability. This announcement from our recent press release was picked up by a several news outlets.

K–12Dive published an article acknowledging Think College’s plans to seek approval from the US Department of Education and the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity to become a nationally-recognized accreditor for inclusive postsecondary programs. The College Fix also published an article referencing Think College’s IHEAC. The article recognizes the ICI’s Think College as the entity leading the campaign to standardize college programs for students with intellectual disabilities. In 2020, Think College set out to establish a process for implementing national program accreditation standards to ensure the quality and accountability of college programs for students with intellectual disability. Now in 2023, the IHEAC is on its way to establishing the national standard for inclusive postsecondary programs.
